Howloween is coming!

Howloween is just one week away. Have you thought about your dog?

Costumes for your dog:  Some dogs may love to wear costumes. If so, make sure the costume fits property. A costume that is too tight can cut off the circulation and a costume that is loose can cause a dog to trip and hurt themselves. Having your dog wear a costume might be entertaining to you but your dog may not find it amusing at all. If so, don’t force you dog to wear a costume. Settle for something small like a bandana or better yet let them go au naturale.

Halloween night your door bell is continually  ringing, this could be very stressful for your dog.

So have a game plan. Place your dog is a separate room with some of their favorite toys or treats. Though your dog may love visitors on Halloween night, they may be afraid of people in costumes. Keep you dog at a distant from trick or treaters.

Chocolate and dogs: As much as your dog or cat may beg for some of your Halloween candy, always remember that chocolate is deadly to them in any amount. There’s a chemical that naturally occurs in chocolate that they cannot tolerate.

If you suspect that your dog has ingested anything toxic call your veterinarian or animals poison control center  (888) 426-4435

  1. My dog wearing a custom, no problem. But people coming to my door, not happening. My pitbull is way to over protective indoors.
