After hearing all of the news throughout hurricane Sandy and seeing the pictures of the storm and its aftermath, I wanted to do a quick post about 2 things.

1. Thank you to all those who spent time away from your families to man the shelters to stay with the animals throughout the storm. Thank you to all those that helped rescue people and animals in distress.

2. For the people out there who felt that they didn’t need to take their pets with them when they evacuated, you shouldn’t have pets. If you don’t care about their safety or welfare, then you shouldn’t be a pet owner. I do not care what your excuse is unless you are an elderly person or are disabled,  who physically could not move their pet. I always think about how I would take my dog if anything happened.
